While her primary instrument is guitar, Riley also plays keyboards, bass guitar, saxophone and clarinet.

Riley picked up music at a young age, getting her first guitar at the age of five. Her musical journey truly began a few years after that when she began taking guitar lessons at Mountain Top Music Center in Conway, N.H. Mountain Top exposed Riley to a variety of performance opportunities including solo performances and rock band situations.

When asked to perform at the annual Harvey Baldwin Benefit Concert in 2014, the Riley Parkhurst Project was born. With Riley fronting the band, the Riley Parkhurst Project has continued to perform at many New Hampshire and Maine venues. In addition, Riley also fronts the Riley Parkhurst Duo and performs solo shows.
